  Microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure for treating the appearance of fine lines, acne scars and improvement of the skin’s overall appearance. During the procedure, a device with fine needles is used to create controlled micro-channels to the skin in order to activate production of collagen and elastin. The skin’s repair process results in improvement of the appearance of softer wrinkles. These superficial micro-channels which can be used to deliver antioxidant serums, Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP), and PepFactor to help improve the appearance of the skin. The use of PRP and PepFactor enhances the procedure's effects in the deeper layers of the skin. What Is PRP? PRP is plasma with a high concentration of platelets. Platelets, most commonly associated with clotting, can also assist in mending and strengthening damaged tissues by increasing certain growth factors at the site. What Is PepFactor? PepFactor skin and scalp rejuvenation serums assist with the appearance of younger looking skin. The key ingredient of PepFactor is the world’s first uniquely formulated protein that works to offer regenerative properties for the skin and scalp (i.e. hair growth). What Happens During And After The Microneedling Procedure? All patients will be asked to avoid any blood thinners or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs up to one week prior to the procedure. If you are receiving PRP, then we ask patients to come to the procedure well hydrated for a blood draw. After the blood draw, it takes approximately 20 minutes for the PRP to be prepared. Meanwhile your face will be prepped for the procedure. The procedure takes approximately 20 minutes, and afterward you may notice redness and sensitivity to your face over the next 2-3 days. Also, you should avoid sunlight, and any harsh chemicals or make-up on your face for the next few days. How Long Will It Take To See Aesthetic Results? Patients who undergo microneedling with PRP or PepFactor may notice an immediate boost in the radiance and softness of their skin. PRP and PepFactor work beneath the surface to restructure the collagen matrix in superficial tissue, so results become more noticeable after a few weeks. • Injectable Cosmetic Fillers

  Injectable cosmetic fillers are gel-like substances that are injected beneath the at different depths to restore and smooth facial wrinkles, provide facial volume, and augment facial features thereby restoring a smoother contour and appearance. We proudly offer our patients the following injectable cosmetic dermal fillers: Juvederm; Belotero, and Restylane. How Do Cosmetic Dermal Fillers Work? Fillers have been used for decades to restore lost volume or add lift. Basically, fillers restore lost volume to your face and plump areas, so that deep set lines are smoothed. As we get older our bodies stop producing collagen and elastin, both of which contribute to the youthful look. Experts argue over when we start losing collagen; but the generally agreed age is 25. Your collagen and elastin levels then decline at a rate of about 2% per year, and your body will have stopped producing it altogether by your late twenties. What Happens During The Procedure? Cosmetic dermal filler injections take about 15 minutes to administer by a physician. A fine needle is used for the injection, which is given under the skin in the targeted area to add volume or fill in wrinkles and folds. A doctor may elect to use a topical anesthetic on the area to be treated before giving the injection. Afterward, the physician may gently massage the treated area(s). Once treatment is completed, patients can return, with virtually no downtime, to their regular activities. For the first 24 hours after treatment, to reduce the risk of complications, patients should avoid strenuous exercise, excessive sun or heat exposure, and alcohol consumption. Are Injectable Cosmetic Dermal Fillers Safe? Although injectable cosmetic dermal fillers are considered safe, there is a risk of side effects. They are usually limited to the injection site, and include the following: The results of injectable dermal fillers are visible immediately after injection; any swelling and bruising, to which ice can be applied, should subside during the next few days. Results can last 6 to 9 months, and, in some cases, up to year. However, results may vary and correction is temporary. Supplemental treatments may be required to achieve and maintain optimal correction of wrinkles and folds. Most patients undergo this procedure with no problems, but some may experience temporary redness, pain or tenderness, swelling, bruising, itching, and discoloration.

Results from neurotoxin injections are apparent within 24 to 48 hours, and are maximized by 30 days. Results often last between 3 and 4 months. Do Neurotoxins Have Medical Applications? Yes, Botox Cosmetic can be used to treat a number of medical problems, including excessive sweating, overactive bladder, neck spasms, crossed eyes, chronic back and jaw pain, and migraines. What Are The Possible Side Effects Of Neurotoxins? Side effects of neurotoxins are usually mild and temporary. Possible injection-site side effects include pain, infection, inflammation, tenderness, swelling, redness, bleeding and bruising. Benefits Of Good Nutrition Not only do people feel more energetic and happier when they eat well, they also keep their bodies in the best possible condition. The benefits of good nutrition include developing and maintaining physical strength as well as preventing or controlling disease processes. Research has shown that the following disorders may be avoided, controlled, or mitigated by life styles that include well-balanced nutrition: A good diet is one that: Is rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains and fat-free or low-fat milk products Includes protein sources such as lean meats, poultry, fish, beans, eggs, and nuts Is low in saturated fats, cholesterol, sodium and added sugars Contains a balance of appropriate vitamins and minerals Calorie intake should be determined by age, activity level and weight goal. While our culture tends to focus on avoiding obesity, being underweight or malnourished is also a serious and often life-threatening problem. Anyone can benefit from nutritional counseling, especially patients with food allergies or eating disorders. Ongoing nutritional counseling allows for evolving dietary guidelines. • PRP Injections

  For many years, the medical community has been acutely aware of the body®s natural regenerative qualities. Physicians across all fields, including orthopedics, dentistry, and sports medicine, have implemented protocols that work synergistically with the body. The use of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is common for promoting joint recovery and managing degenerative disease. It was only a matter of time before science discovered the value that PRP held for the body®s largest organ: the skin. We are pleased to offer PRP treatments to help our patients address their cosmetic concerns. What Is PRP? PRP, or platelet-rich plasma, is an organic substance that has long been advocated for its ability to facilitate tissue regeneration and wound healing. The substance exists in every person®s blood, which makes it safe and convenient. PRP is obtained through a simple blood draw and centrifuge (spinning) process. Centrifugation of the blood separates nutrient-rich platelets from red blood cells and other product. Platelets are valuable because they contain a large number of growth factors. These include epithelial and vascular epithelial growth factors as well as fibroblast and connective tissue growth factors. Each type of growth promotes vital processes such as inflammatory response, blood vessel regeneration, tissue remodeling, and cell proliferation. What Are The Benefits Of PRP Injections? The growth factors contained in PRP are involved in almost every regenerative process in the body. When PRP is injected just beneath the skin, it stimulates collagen proliferation through which a number of benefits occur. PRP injections add volume to areas of the face that have begun to droop or atrophy. The cheeks can be rounded out and under eye hollows that cause dark circles and bags can be softened. Due to ongoing collagen remodeling, PRP injections also promote softer, smoother, tighter skin over time. PRP injections are also beneficial because they are safe for all skin types and tones. The organic nature of treatment, using your own blood product, significantly reduces the potential for side effects such as allergic response. How Long Do PRP Injections Take? PRP treatment with injections takes only slightly longer than an average injectable treatment. We begin with a standard blood draw. If desired, a topical numbing cream can be applied to the treatment area while blood is processed in the centrifuge. This takes just a few minutes. Each procedure takes under an hour. Most patients require up to three PRP injections, about 4 to 6 weeks apart, in order to achieve optimal results. Occasionally, a fourth injection is necessary. What Happens After The PRP Procedure? Patients can resume normal activity immediately following their PRP procedure. Slight redness and swelling should be expected. Some patients notice minor bruising. These side effects typically disappear within the first day after treatment. Are PRP Injections Safe? There is always a risk of infection or clotting with any type of injection, but such complications are extremely rare. There is also a remote possibility that a patient will have an allergic reaction to some portion of the procedure. Most patients undergo this procedure with no problems.
